Anyone who picks up a camera for fun or work to cover sports could benefit from a day or two at the Photoshop World Conference & Expo that opened on Tuesday at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The conference educational sessions run through April 10 and consider a number of topics pertinent to sports photography.
Atlanta is hosting one of the largest educational conferences in the country dealing specifically with photography. More than 35 of the best photographers in the United States are leading more than 100 classes in all facets of photography for both hobbyists and industry practitioners.
Geared towards photographers of all levels there are seven educational tracks that consider provide invaluable information in Beginners 101, Lighting, Photography Techniques, and four tracks that deal specifically with mastering various Photoshop software packages including Lightroom, Photoshop and Creative Cloud.
Within those seven tracks the more than 100 classes deal with such varied and specific topics as low light photography, wedding photography, photographic restoration or file management in Lightroom. A full schedule of classes is available on the website
Each class is led by one of the country’s leading photographers; for example aspiring or enthusiastic sports photographers can benefit from an hour-long educational session with Dave Black who has covered many of the world’s major sporting events including 12 Olympic Games over the last thirty years.
In addition to the educational sessions there is the Photoshop World Expo that showcases some of the incredibly sophisticated and very cool products and software available to consumers. There is no better way to purchase some of these accessories than to get a “hands on” demonstration from company representatives before you take the plunge for that piece of software or web-based photo management system.
Not only does the Expo provide a marketplace for some great product it also provides some additional educational sessions on the expo floor in specially designated areas
Entrance to the Expo is open to the general public for free and it has proven to be an incredibly popular facet to the overall program.
Such is the significance of the Photoshop World Conference and Expo, Adobe have chosen to use the gathering as the platform for the announcement of their latest Lightroom Mobile App.
While the conference started on April 8 there is still plenty of valuable content remaining over the course of the last two days. In addition, registrants can benefit from receipt of a large book that contains much of the material presented during all the sessions as part of their registration package.
