Overview

Tech High School is a charter school in the Atlanta Public School district. It opened in 2004 and serves approximately 230 students in grades 9-12. The school is based in the historic Reynoldstown neighborhood.

Tech High places an academic emphasis on math, science and technology.

Some of the annual events the school  holds include a math fair, talent show, homecoming, prom, and a monthly afterschool film series.


According to the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, charter schools are independent public schools that are free to be more innovative and are held accountable for improved student achievement. They foster a partnership between parents, teachers and students to create an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are given the freedom to innovate and students are provided the structure they need to learn.

There are currently more than 120 charter schools in the state of Georgia with nearly 35,000 students attending those schools.
