Scribbles Book Club, an Atlanta based Book Club hosted their First Annual Fund Raiser to Benefit Morris Brown College on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Encore Restaurant and Lounge in Buckhead.

Over 100 participants (authors and book club members) filled the Encore Restaurant in Buckhead to capacity to raise money and to present a check to Morris Brown College President Dr. Stanley Pritchet, to help off-set the cost of books for their students. Thisevent will included: food, wine, live jazz, and author readings.

Georgia Peach Authors Dwan Abrams, Jean Holloway and Electa Rome Parks were featured authors appearing at the event.

“Morris Brown is very important to us, not just to the African American Community, but the Atlanta community at large,” states When the Fairy Tale Ends Author Dwan Abrams. “It was great to see so many people come together for a common cause, to preserve a historical landmark and institution that will impact the education of so many for generations to come.

The Scribbles event raised over $1000.00.
