Every Tuesday it is possible to take a garden tour at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and enjoy the presence of a knowledgeable guide to share insights that might otherwise elude you during your 10:30 a.m. visit.
There is no extra charge for the qualified services, as it is included in general admission cost to the Garden. And it can greatly enhance your visit to take advantage of the opportunity, as the guide will know which flowers are currently in bloom and all the little extra bits of information you might want to know about them.
If Tuesdays don't work for you or your group you can always attend on Wednesday or Thursday, but the 10:30 a.m. time frame is the only option for free guided garden tours being offered, according to the Atlanta Botanical Garden website.
If you want to check out some private gardens off the beaten path in September, and you're looking for an expert to narrate those excursions, check out three-time author Mary Palmer Dargan's 3-day workshop, which will include garden tours of homes in Buckhead, for example.
This will make the licensed landscape architect's third workshop and garden tour opportunity presented this year, with her taking flower lovers into the exclusive gardens of homeowners in Charleston, S.C., Cashiers, N.C. and now Atlanta, Ga.
