Atlanta pastor to deliver the inaugural prayer (Video)

Rev. Louie Gigilo, the evangelical pastor and founder of the Passion City Church of Atlanta, Georgia, will deliver the benediction during President Barack Obama's inauguration in Washington D.C. on January 21.

Gigilo will be joined by a widow of a slain civil rights activist Medgar Evers who will deliver the invocation.

"In a statement released by the inaugural committee, the president said the careers of Evers-Williams and Giglio 'reflect the ideals that the Vice President and I continue to pursue for all Americans - justice, equality and opportunity,'" reported the Washington Post.

The Passion City mega-church is geared towards college-age youth and has recently hosted a four-day conference “Passion 2013” attended by 60,000 university students from across the world.

The event raised $3.3 million to combat modern-day slavery and human trafficking. The young congregation also delivered 72,000 signatures to President Obama calling for the government to take steps to put an end to sex and labor trafficking.
