Atlanta Film Festival days away

If you find yourself wanting to take a break from the pollen and watch something that you don't see everyday, now is your chance. Kicking off at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema this Friday is the Atlanta Film Festival. Starting Thursday, April 15 at the Carter Center, an Opening Gala will occur and premier the documentary film, Freedom Riders, which was also featured at this year's Sundance Film Festival. On Friday begins the screenings at Midtown Art and continues through Thursday, April 22. Friday is the Closing Night at the 14th Street Playhouse with a screening of The Secret to a Happy Ending

Like any other convention (i.e. Dragon*Con, Bonnaroo), these films are going to overlap each other and therefore you're going to have to pick and choose. Luckily, the Atlanta Film Festival's website offers its attendees and potential attendees an easy-to-follow schedule so you can keep up with what's playing next. As far as what yours truly is going to be reviewing, so far what is a definite "yes" is the film in the Narrative Competition, The Things We Carry. As far as other screenings, it crossed my mind to attend the screening of We Dare You to Watch These Shorts, but some of the stories sound like triple dares...
