As of August 24, 2013, the Atlanta Falcons are set to enter their third week preseason match up with the Tennessee Titans.
Game time: 8 p.m. EST
TV: CBS Atlanta
Online streaming details can be found here.
This is the first time the Falcons and Titans have met since their meeting on November 20, 2011, which Atlanta won 23-17 in the Georgia Dome.
Roddy White will likely sit out the game with a low-ankle sprain he suffered against the Baltimore Ravens in week two. The injury is considered mild, and is not expected to keep him out opening day against the New Orleans Saints on September 8.
Tony Gonzalez is expected to take the field for his first preseason game, after spending the first two weeks with his family.
What to watch:
Second-year right tackle Lamar Holmes and fifth-year guard Garrett Reynold are worth keeping an eye on as the right side of the offensive line is widely regarded as the Falcons biggest question mark heading into the season.
Brian Banks, a 28-year-old man who spent five years in prison after being falsely convicted of rape charges, has been one of the preseasons most inspiring stories. He's not likely to see the field before the fourth quarter, if at all, but we're all pulling for him to at least make the practice squad as he continues to live out his dream.
The Titans offensive line has been revamped this offseason, and the Falcons defensive line will be tested. Which could bode well in how we'll fair against run-heavy teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the San Fransisco 49ers, the Carolina Panthers and the Washington Redskins. Osi Umenyiora, who recently paid for jersey number 50, has shown flashes of brilliance against the run so far.
