Atlanta concert picks under $10: March 18-23 (Photos)

There are three exciting special events this week- whether your passion is film, skateboarding or, and we kid not, oysters, there is an event waiting for you. There are four free shows this week, five if you're of the fairer sex, and a chance to hear some brand new tunes courtesy Noot d' Noot and Calm White Noise. In other news, soon the Five Spot will be back on the calendar list, under a new name, thanks to its recent purchase and the hopeful aspirations of its new owners. Special Events:

  • Mar. 20: Sound and Vision: Atlanta Film Festival, featuring: Gringo Star- Dog Bite- PLS PLS- Tikka- Cute Boots- Shantih Shantih- The Goat Farm- 6 p.m.- $10. In addition to the music line up, see experimental films, a music video competition, and art installations from around the city. Cousin Dan will be spinning and there will be food trucks for your enjoyment.
  • Mar. 23: The Graham's Jam, featuring: Graham's Number- Hero to the Band- In It For the Chicks- The Metro lofts (details here)- 8 p.m.- $10. Sponsored by TMDK skateboards, there will be a half-pipe set up, a dance floor with full bar and food vendors.
  • Mar. 23: ShamJam Shuckfest, featuring: Andrew & the Disapyramids- Blair Crimmins and the Hookers- Little Country Giants- Sailing to Denver- Tin Roof Cantina- 1 p.m.- $7 in advance, $10 day of show. There will be bands playing inside and outside, with a special performance from the winner of the Acoustic Showdown that has been going on all month. There will also be games and $5 buckets of steamed oysters.
