Atlanta concert picks under $10: February 24-March 2 (Photos)

There is a ton of new music to pick up this week- The Dirty Magazines, AkuYou, The Acorns, W.I.C, Dustin Barclay and Frisky Monkey all have something new to pick up, so make it a point to hear something new. Saturday is night 7 of Swayze's Battle of the Bands, and 8 bands for ten bucks makes it a great weekend option. Meanwhile, over in Athens, it is also the final round for the MBUS Battle of the Bands, with the top 4 bands battling it out for a hefty cash prize- and the winner is decided by biggest turnout! Lastly, there are a couple great benefit shows going down, so help out our fellow music lovers. Check out the whole calendar for the week, and get out there:

This is a benefit for longtime Atlanta music supporter Zachery Beauford (aka Knumbskull), who is battling cancer without insurance. There will also be art auctions and raffles from several local artists, and beer specials from Finch's Threadless IPA. All proceeds from tickets, auctions and bar tips will go to helping Knumbskull.
Feb. 28: Let's Help Jesse, a benefit for Jesse Covington, featuring DJs Ryan Baker and DDDDave- P'cheen- 5 p.m.- FREE (donations suggested)- This is a benefit for Jesse Covington of P'cheen Bistro, whi was involved in a serious car accident resulting in severe trauma. Proceeds will benefit his family and help with their day-to-day bills over his projected recovery time of 6 months to a year. 15% of the house will go to the cause, there will be a Red Hare cash keg and limited edition t-shirts for sale with 100% proceeds to the cause, a silent Auction featuring local art, food and DJ services and more, and a raffle.
