Watching movies with the family is a long standing past time for many families. Movies like “Lassie," “101 Dalmatians," “Joey” and other animal centered films features creatures that add a special element to each movie. Watching animals in movies often gets pet owners wondering how they can get their talented pets on the big screen. Now, to get their talented family pet its big chance in Hollywood, Atlantans need to travel little more than an hour away to the Atlanta Dogworks ranch.
The Atlanta Dogworks ranch, located in Ball Ground, Ga., is an amazing animal training facility specializing in getting animals on the big screen. The owners Greg and Carol Lane Tresan have over 20 years of experience in training and casting animals for movies, television shows and commercials. With the help of their team of top trainers they have provided animals for movies like “Identity Theft” and “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?” and television shows like “The Rosa Parks Story” and “The Walking Dead." They have also provided animal talent for commercials for Tide, Febreeze, and other products. The 15-acre ranch also doubles as a state-of-the-art dog kennel offering high quality boarding and training for Atlanta area dogs.
If anyone thinks that this may be the place to jumpstart their pet’s film career, there are a few things to keep in mind before heading to the ranch. First, the animal needs to be able to do some kind of trick. Being cute, adorable and friendly may not be enough. Second, if the animal can do a trick it needs to be able to do it reliably and on cue. If Fido can shake hands he needs to do it whenever he is asked, not just when he feels like it. Third, the animal needs to be able to perform around distractions and under pressure. Pets that are easily distracted and unable to focus if there is a lot going on may not perform well on a busy movie set.
If you have a pet that can pass the above tests you can go to this page for the Atlanta Dogworks ranch’s contact information, visit their website or maybe visit them at 1690 Julius Bridge Road, Ball Ground, Ga. CBS Atlanta News did a segment on Atlanta Dogworks that can be viewed here and can provide more information.
If your family pet has what it takes to be on the big screen contact Atlanta Dogworks and watch your pet become a star.
