Atlanta abundant in weekly activities for toddlers

It’s not hard to find interesting and creative things to do with toddlers most days of the week in metro Atlanta. Check out a few of the many upcoming offerings around town for you and your little ones:


Magic Monday at The Atlanta History Center from 10:30am-11:30 am. The program is aimed at children ages 18 months to five years and is filled with lots of fun and learning.

Cost: Admission is free for adult members; $5.50 for children of members; $6.50 for nonmember adults; and $5.50 for nonmember children. Discounted tickets are available for groups with ten or more. Want to know more? Call 404.814.4110.


Target Free Tuesday at Imagine It Children’s Museum, located at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW Atlanta, GA 30313-1827. It’s the second Tuesday of every month. Next one: January 11, 2011 from 1 pm- 7pm. The popular program lets kids experience all the hands-on fun at the museum for free.


Imagination Time at Decatur Library, located at 215 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA 30030. Phone: 404.370.3070.

Remaining dates this month: January 12 and 19, at 11-11:45 am. The stories, rhymes, lots of movement and fun are geared toward 2 and 3 year olds. Free.

Story Time by the River, Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC), located at 9135 Willeo Road Roswell, GA 30075. Phone: 770-992-2055. Stories and crafts outside on the first Wednesday of the month for three to five year olds. Next one: Feb. 2, 2011.

Cost: Free for CNC members; adults, $8; children, ages 3 - 12, $5.


  • Toddler Thursdays at the High Museum of Art. Tiny tots can get artsy from 11 am-3pm on Thursdays at the museum, located at 1280 Peachtree Street, N.E. Atlanta, GA 30309.

Cost: Members, free; adults, $18; children under age five, free.

  • Preschool Storytime, Ocee Branch Library, Alpharetta. Thursdays through January 27, 2011, 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. Storytime, rhymes, and craft-making for 3 to 5 year olds takes place in the Ocee community meeting room. The library’s address is: 5090 Abbotts Bridge Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30005. Free.


Preschool storytime, Norcross branch, Gwinnett County Public Library, 10:15 a.m., January 15, 22 and 29.
