Every month, Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols continue to present us with incredible R&B talent at the beautiful Piedmont Park. July’s edition of ATL Live on the Park included performances by Ian Von, Melanie Amaro, Eric Roberson, and a surprise performance by R&B crooner Donell Jones. Taiye Samuel a.k.a “The Wild Afrikan” hosted the event and pumped up the crowd, alongside DJ Trauma and the house-band, Quinn and Jukebox. The July edition of ATL Live on the Park was sponsored by Gentleman Jack, Aaron’s, Belvedere Vodka, Cantu Beauty; who gifted ladies celebrating their birthday with a special gift, Magic 107.5, and the W Atlanta-Midtown.
The show kicked off with a performance by rising R&B singer-songwriter Ian Von. The new artist wowed the crowd by performing songs from his new album Love Songs, Beats & Guitars, including his most popular songs “I Will Always Love You” and “New Music.”
Melanie Amaro, 2011 Winner of the X-Factor, graced the stage next. Amaro performed “Me” by Tamia, “Speechless” by Beyoncé, and ended her performance with a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Amaro’s performance was so powerful, she brought the audience to tears and received a standing ovation.
The charismatic host Taiye Samuel, called on Donell Jones for a surprise performance. Jones performed his popular cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me off My Feet.”
Singer, songwriter, producer, and Grammy nominee Eric Roberson headlined the event. He performed many of his most popular songs, including “Picture Perfect” and “Mark on Me.” To conclude, Roberson interacted with the crowd by creating a song from random words and phrases suggested by the audience. Roberson delivered an incredible performance and also received a standing ovation.
ATL Live on the Park will return in August for their third annual white party on August 12, 2014. For additional information about ATL Live on the Park, please visit: www.atlliveonthepark.com
