In April, the 2011 Communities of Excellence Awards were handed out in a ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL. These awards are handed out yearly to some of the finest HOAs in the state, and serve as a benchmark as to how things should be done.
The awards ceremony accepts nominations from hundreds of communities across the state for various awards, including website design, energy conservation, safety, and landscaping.
AtHomeNet web services client, River Bend Condominium Association of Brevard, Inc. was named a finalist in the Best Website category in the 2011 Communities of Excellence Awards by the Florida Community Association Journal. An AtHomeNet client for nearly 7 years, the River Bend Condominium Association has grown with the company, who will celebrate their 13th anniversary earlier this year.
River Bend website administrator, Jackie Grant, said “In our write up we emphasized the importance and ease of using the website as our ‘document storage and review vehicle for our residents’ as well as the best method of communication at all times, especially during the hurricane season. We constantly sing the praises of AtHomeNet and if we are lucky enough to chosen First Place, it will be due to your fine company and dedicated employees.”
The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards was established in 2009 to recognize condominiums, homeowners associations and cooperatives in the state of Florida who have taken positive and productive steps forward in the industry. More than 160,000 residents have gotten involved with the program since it’s inception.
Though the River Bend community did not win the award this year, hopefully the honor of having their nomination up for consideration will encourage them to try even harder in the future. Every community should have at least some web presence, and with the changing demographics here in South Florida, perhaps one day they will.
