Ronald Fraser Golden of 106 Bullington Road in Athens, Ohio admitted to naming kittens before he would take them in his "cat room" and break or wring their necks reports Thursday's enewscourier.com.
Golden, 48, was arrested and has been charged with 22 counts of Class C felony animal cruelty. Five dead kittens were found in the back of his property, and Golden is alleged to have admitted to buying kittens off of Craigslist to kill.
On Sept. 24, based on an anonymous report and complaints of dead cats, authorities questioned Golden who told Athens police investigators he was "angry at the world."
According to wtoc.com, neighbors were shocked and nervous since animal cruelty is associated with cruelty to humans with one neighbor stating:
"I get infuriated that someone would do that, and very scared - you read about serial killers and they often have a history of abusing animals before they move on to even worse things."
Golden told authorities he had been killing kittens since July 2013.
He was taken for a psychiatric evaluation and then released to the Athens Police where he remains at the Limestone County Jail in lieu of a $22,000 bond.
