A recent Examiner article informs us that, “American Atheists are launching a provocative new billboard campaign that challenges social conservatives on homosexuality, the place of faith in government and the history of child abuse within the Roman Catholic Church. The new billboards call upon Americans to “Go Godless Instead,” and will be going up in Austin and Dallas, Texas. American Atheists announced the new billboard campaign on March 3.”
Once again, atheists are once again utilizing these roadside billboards to promote their message of “anything goes…unless it’s associated with God”. These billboards will promote a “nothing’s wrong if it feels right to you” message of anarchy to try to convince people to reject religion, faith, and God. This is simple narcissism and it is not a new concept…it started in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve chose to reject the Truth of God and accept the lie of Satan. This is the heart of atheism we see today.
Atheists repeatedly, and wrongly, say that Christians hate homosexuals and want to harm them and squash their rights. Nothing could be further from the truth. Christians know that God has set the standard by which mankind is to live. Our responsibility is to tell the world this truth and, more importantly and that, through faith in Jesus Christ, a person can be forgiven for breaking God’s standard and not have to spend an eternity in misery, separated from God (II Thessalonians 1:9). The atheist claims that he speaks out of love and the Christian is the hateful bigot; however, how loving is it to encourage a person to continue living in a manner guaranteed to damn him or her?
Some of these billboards will exist simply to highlight the history of child abuse within the Roman Catholic Church. One has to wonder: How large would a billboard have to be to contain all the cases of child abuse carried out by those who have “gone godless”? How shameful it is that a group of people delight in promoting the very same immorality that they accuse others of committing. Remember, it is the Godless group NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) that openly promotes sex between adults and children. It is absurd to think that this billboard building group actually thinks it is taking the moral high ground by calling people to reject God.
As long as people fall for this distorted and deceitful propaganda promoted by these God-rejectors, not only will our nation and world continue down into the cesspool of immorality, but individual souls will forfeit their opportunity to live eternally in the presence of our loving, holy, Creator…forever. They will instead find themselves before a Holy God trying to explain why they believed the words of His enemies while rejecting the Truth of His Word.
