Atheist groups target Denver populace

They are out in full force.

It started out two years ago with the local Boulder atheist and Colorado Coalition of Reason (COCORE). They purchased billboards declaring, "Don't believe in God? You're not alone."

This year they purchased three billboards in the Denver area protesting the city nativity: "Stop government support of religion. Move this Denver nativity scene to a church."

The initiator and spokesman of COCORE and the Boulder atheist group, Marvin Straus, was interviewed shortly thereafter. He defended the billboard and explained in depth the rationale.

Now another atheist group, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, has placed "two irreverently seasonal billboards in Denver..." The billboards came out yesterday (Dec. 16th).

One states, "Reason's Greetings." The other more provocatively declaims, "Yes Virginia, There is No God."

Both are displayed off 6th Avenue.

With five atheistic billboards up this season, Christmas in Denver just got more interesting.

They have more right to protest than the fools at military funerals. And at least they pay for it and create commerce right?
Not that it really bothers me either way.
I like how you call it a war ... they probably call it irrational
