U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor, yesterday, sentenced Brandon DeShawn Campbell, 32, to 30 years in federal prison. Campbell was convicted at trial in December 2012 on one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, one count of possession with the intent to distribute methylenedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA or "ecstasy") and two counts of possessing a firearm in furtherance of, and used during and in relation to, a drug trafficking crime.
According to court documents, Campbell and his co-defendant Tyrone Alan Allen, 33, who was sentenced by Judge O'Connor to eight years in federal prison in June 2013, used a home on Teague Street, in Dallas, to deal various drugs, including crack, PCP, marijuana and ecstasy. On December 12, 2011, ATF agents recovered drugs and five firearms from the home, while executing a search warrant. Campbell was a regular worker at the house and Allen would front Campbell $500 worth of cocaine and $500 worth of marijuana per week and allow Campbell to sell the drugs from the house to keep the "trap" running at all hours of the night.
