On Friday, March 21, Spokane-area crime fiction author Frank Zafiro announced on Facebook that his novel "At Their Own Game" will be on sale until March 27 as part of the ongoing March Craziness book promotion he is conducting with his fellow author Jim Wilsky.

According to Zafiro, "My newest novel, 'At Their Own Game', is on sale for 99 cents! It will remain discounted through March 27, with the price climbing slowly back to the regular $4.99. So the sooner you buy it, the cheaper it'll be!"

"At Their Own Game" is a suspenseful crime fiction tale about a small-time criminal operating in Spokane who finds himself having to stay one step ahead of both local law enforcement and a local drug dealer after a member of his crew gets arrested and a get rich quick scheme falls apart.

According to the product description on Amazon, "Jake Stankovic has been flying below the radar for years, dealing safely in stolen property crime with his two-man crew. But times are tough, so he decides to step up to the big money with a drug deal. Everything that can go wrong, does. The deal goes bad, a vengeful detective sets his sights on Jake, one of his crew might be a turncoat, and a woman from a long past affair suddenly reappears. All of this would be complicated enough on it's own, but for Jake, it's even worse.

"The woman is the detective's ex-wife.

"And Jake Stankovic used to be a cop.

"Now Jake must face new problems and old vendettas in an all-in proposition with lives on the line. He has to find a way to get his money back, keep the girl, and beat everyone involved...At Their Own Game."

The Amazon Kindle ebook edition of "At Their Own Game" is currently on sale. It is also available in a print edition that is marked down a little from its usual list price of $12.99.

"At Their Own Game" is basically what a Spokane version of the critically acclaimed hit television series "Breaking Bad" might look like. The novel deals with themes related to ethics, morality, revenge and violence in interesting ways that should help keep readers on the edges of their seats as Jake gets himself out of another jam. Being familiar with Spokane geography adds to the fun, but it isn't necessary to enjoy the book.

March Craziness will actually continue until around April 15. Zafiro usually posts updates about the latest work he is including in the promotion on his Facebook page and his Twitter feed, so checking them periodically is a good idea for people who want to get more books during the event.
