AT&T offers a very good alternative to landlines with the AT&T Wireless Home Phone. The base unit is available at AT&T stores and online. With the expected features of a typical home phone service and the convenience of portability, the AT&T Wireless Home Phone is worth investigating, especially if you are on a Family Plan with AT&T.

The phone works the same as if you plugged it into the wall.
In fact, after some testing, this unit was able to feed each phone jack through out the house simply by connecting the AT&T Wireless Home Phone into one of the wall jacks. It seemed to back feed the signal to other phones plugged in through out the house in the other jacks. Each of the other units received a dial tone and functioned as if a landline was present.
AT&T also allows you to transfer your existing telephone number to this device so you don’t have to worry about giving out yet another new number. You can also take your AT&T Wireless Home Phone with you. After testing in Nashville, the device was moved to Florida. This proved to be an easy way to bring your home phone with you. Plugging in the standard, corded phone from the hotel, making and receiving calls was just as easy as it was back home.
The cost of the AT&T Wireless Home Phone is free with a two-year agreement. If you prefer no commitment, the base unit will cost you $129.99. If you are on a Family Plan through AT&T, it will cost you $9.99 a month to add it to your plan. If you would like to setup the device itself, unlimited nationwide calling will cost $19.99 a month.
