I've been covering the "Rugby" line of Samsung phones since they were first used at a fishing tournament here in Georgia almost four years ago.
The Rugby phones were an integral part of the fishing competition and the spirit of the event. Real-time updates were relayed by text messages and these durable phones were one of the stars of the day, along with the anglers and AT&T.
Now AT&T is proud to announce they will the sole carrier of the fourth generation of the Rugby when it is released in the coming weeks. If this Rugby is as good as it's previous versions, it's going to be great.
“The Samsung Rugby 4 and AT&T’s network are two best in-class tools enabling you to be connected in demanding environments,” said Jeff Howard, vice president – Mobile Devices, AT&T. “The Samsung Rugby 4, coming exclusively to AT&T, will be the newest rugged push-to-talk device with all the great features you’ve come to expect from the Rugby series.”
The Samsung Rugby 4 joins the AT&T Enhanced Push-To-Talk offerings which include more than 20 different devices.
Samsung has put this phone through a variety of tests to make sure it can withstand everything from temperature changes, dust, sand, shock/vibration, low pressure/high altitude and water.
Per Samsung, the Rugby 4 features include:
· A bigger speaker with louder volume
· Wi-Fi connectivity
· Turn-by-turn navigation2
· Military-grade protection3
