This last week, AT&T announced they have begun taking pre-orders for the Samsung Gear 2, the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Neo, and the Samsung Fit. Shipping is set to start around early April, but no exact date was provided.

The Samsung Gear 2 will be available to $299. The Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit will be sold for $199. If you purchase any of these devices with a new Samsung Galaxy 5, you will also receive $50 off the purchase of a Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo.

While each device is similar to the original Samsung Galaxy Gear watch, they now run a different operating system and have slightly different features. The Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo each have a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED screen. If you would prefer to choose another watch band, these devices allow you to interchange straps with a standard 22mm pin watch band.

Similar to the first Samsung Gear, you can make voice calls and send text messages right from the device on your wrist instead of taking a phone out of your pocket. With the Gear 2 and Gear Neo, you will receive notifications, control the music player on your Samsung smartphone, and even take pictures with the low-resolution, 2 MP camera.

The Gear Fit is aimed at a slightly different audience as it was designed for health and wellness activities. The Gear Fit has a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display. It is thinner than the other devices and can track your steps, monitor your heart rate, as well as receive notifications for incoming calls, texts, and emails. While there is no camera, the Gear Fit may be a better choice for those looking for a fitness alternative to the FitBit.

In the press release, Jeff Bradley, Senior Vice President – Devices, AT&T said, β€œAT&T elevates mobility to the next level. Pair the Samsung Galaxy S 5 with Gear wearables for a great value that you can take anywhere and fits your lifestyle.” This looks to be a good addition to the ever-changing smart gear market.

Stop by your local AT&T store or visit them online and check out the latest devices.
