At least 245 people were killed after fire took its toll in a Brazil nightclub, Mail Online reported on Jan. 27, 2013.
Kiss Club in the city of Santa Maria in Southern Brazil was engulfed by fire while a band was performing.
According to reports, the official cause of the fire was not known till now. However, it was claimed that the fire was caused by a firework used by a band during their performance.
The deaths caused by the fire is expected to go higher as more and more bodies are being recovered from wreckage. Along with the hundreds that died, there are hundreds that were injured in the fire. The fire was caused in the wee hours of this morning.
According to civil police and regional government spokesman Marcelo Arigoni, over 20 more bodies are still inside the club. The Municipal Sports Centre in the city is being used as a morgue and over 70 bodies have been moved there in a truck.
