At Highland Woods Golf Course, the penultimate, dogleg hole is the 16th. This is a par four hole. (Highland Woods Golf Course is at 2775 N. Ela Road in Hoffman Estates, Ill.)

From the rear, Gold teeing ground, the average distance to the putting green is 355 yards. From the Blue teeing ground, the average distance to the putting green is 346 yards. Three hundred thirty yards is the average distance from the White teeing ground. Three hundred ten yards is the average distance from the front, Red teeing ground. This hole has a #3, course hole handicap.

The 16th hole’s dogleg is a left dogleg. The angle is 60 degrees. This dogleg begins approximately 100 yards from the putting green.

It is appropriate for most golfers to use drivers from the teeing grounds. From the Gold teeing ground, golf balls will need to travel more than 260 yards to fly over the dogleg’s angle and into the rough area (assuming their balls are straight down the fairway’s middle.) Many, amateur golfers cannot consistently hit their drives 260 yards.

Trees are on both sides of the fairway. These are medium height trees. According to graphics on this golf course’s scorecard, the trees on the right side extend from approximately 50 yards in front of the Red teeing ground to behind the putting green.

There are two sand bunkers on this fairway’s, left side. These are medium size bunkers. The first one begins 100 yards from the putting green where the dogleg begins. The second one begins approximately 50 yards from the putting green.

Around the oval-shaped putting green, there are three sand bunkers. The one on the left is small and has an irregular shape. The two on the right are small and almost touch each other in their lengthwise configuration.
