It seems only fitting that Sandra Bullock's new film is titled "Gravity." Because, at 49, she seems to defy the rules of gravity that are supposed to result in sagging and wrinkles as we age. How does this bubbly and beautiful actress stay in such great shape?
To mimic movements in zero gravity required extra effort, she told Shape.
"I pushed my body to the extreme. Strength-wise, I had to know I could do anything [the director] asked of me at any given point, so not a day went by that we didn’t train," revealed Sandra.
Sandra works out for an hour a day, six days a week, according to Fitness magazine. That routine includes cardio and strength-building exercises, Pilates, kick-boxing, yoga and dance.
In addition, Pop Workouts reports that Sandra works out with Simone De La Rue, of Body By Simone. This New York celebrity trainer also works with Beyonce, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson.
"Sandy has completely transformed her body since starting Body By Simone. She puts in an hour a day, six times a week. She loves [having] toned arms," says Simone.
Simone has a new book coming out in March: "Body By Simone: The 8-Week Total-Body-Makeover Plan" (click for details). She also stars in a fitness DVD: "Rock Star: INXS The DVD."
When it comes to diet, Sandra avoids fads. She eats healthy mini meals five to six times a day, enjoying brown rice, vegetables and lean protein.
And yes, she's human: Once a week she has a "cheat day" when she can indulge.
