Astros players request to wear blue/gold star uniforms for third straight game

With the Astros struggling to win games in 2012, the club wants nothing more than to extend their two-game winning streak on Sunday when they attempt to sweep the Milwaukee Brewers at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros entered the weekend with just four wins over its previous 38 games.

However, Brad Mills' squad find themselves in position to potentially record their first sweep since May.

Since it has been a rarity for the Astros to be in this situation, the players have requested to wear the throwback blue and gold star uniforms for the third consecutive game due to the last two night's walk-off victories.

Houston wore the blue and gold start uniforms from 1994-99 -- a period in which the team won three divisional titles.

Right-hander Jordan Lyles (2-8, 5.69 ERA) will get the starting nod for Houston in Sunday's finale against Brewers right-hander Yovani Gallardo (10-8, 3.79 ERA).

First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. CT.
