According to Space.com on Sept. 13, veteran NASA astronaut Cady Coleman received a call from Sandra Bullock to research for her upcoming film "Gravity". She had always been a Bullock fan and had been in the middle of watching "The Blind Side" when the call came to Coleman in the spring of 2011.
Apparently, research involving a situation that entailed being stranded in space was needed and finding out the law of physics from someone who has been up there would give a more accurate representation of what would be portrayed in "Gravity".
The story basically entails Bullock, who plays astronaut Dr. Ryan Stone, gets separated from her craft during a routine space walk. It appears some subtle networking channels involving members of her family who had connections to the famous actress which lead her to be in touch for further instruction about dealing with the forces of nature while solo.
"It was through my younger brother who's in the innovative wine packaging business. "He met Sandra Bullock's sister, who is a chef".
She also found it to be rather ironic that she was watching Bullock's film "The Blind Side" when received the call while exercising on her treadmill on the International Space Station.
"It was really ironic that I'd be watching this movie while running on the [space station's] treadmill and the next day receive an email with her contact information".
"Gravity" opens in theaters on Oct. 4.
