Asthma management and perhaps cure

AP

Get control over asthma once and for all!

For acute, chronic asthma sufferers, Autumn is a dreaded season. The changes of the environment can cause serious trouble and even death for asthmatics.
Why?
Asthma is inflammation that raises sensitivity to asthma triggers like mold, pollen, dust, and smoke. Exposure causes muscle constriction around the airways, leading to asthmatic symptoms like shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing or tightness of the chest.
More than 300 million worldwide and 20 million people in the United States have asthma – 6 million are children. Every day approximately 60,000 miss school or work, 5,000 go to the emergency room, more than 1,000 are admitted to the hospital, and 11 die. All because asthma isn’t properly prevented or even, dare I say cured?
Asthma has increased dramatically over the last several decades. While the exact cause of asthma is unknown, in western medicine many think factors such as an inherited tendency to develop allergy, family history of asthma, contracting respiratory infections in early childhood, exposure to airborne allergens and viral infections during childhood as the immune system develops, exposure to cigarette smoke, obesity, and airway hyperactivity act together to cause or are risk factors for asthma.
Drug companies offer many “solutions”. The problem with their solutions is that they don’t stop the “disease” – they merely stop attacks and try to prevent symptoms from happening, never addressing what is wrong with your body to totally optimize it and place the asthma into remission or cure it.
Why? Because if they told the truth, they’d be out of the asthma business.
Think about it. If you think you have a disease with no cure you’re going to take medications to stop and prevent the attacks, spending thousands and thousands of dollars over your lifetime.
It’s sad to say that this could be the real reason asthma is on the rise.
Types of Asthma
It's also believed that there are different types of asthma such as allergic, exercise induced, occupational, cough variant and nocturnal. An argument can be made that these are not types but triggers to activate asthma attacks.
Defining Asthma
There are two commonly used definitions for asthma.
Those involved in western medicine, such as drug companies, define asthma as: a chronic, long-term disease with no cure.
The other common definition is: a chronic lung condition that causes difficulty breathing.
There is ample evidence that both are incorrect.
Asthma could be only chronic because the means in which we've been using to battle the problem has never gone to the root cause and stopped it, prolonging symptoms and reactions over years.
Asthma is also not a disease or condition.
How does a source like smoke, dust, laughing or exercise suddenly trigger a disease or condition into an uncontrollable reaction?
It can’t.
If not a disease or condition, what is asthma?
To properly define asthma, we can ask what causes an asthma attack? Triggers. What does a trigger make an asthmatic do? Respond.
Asthma is a response from the immune system much like an allergy attack.
A response can be altered.
With a better understanding of what asthma actually is, it can be treated properly.
The asthmatic response is a result of the body not being in optimal condition.
Optimizing your body to rid asthma is in alternative solutions - specifically Chiropractics.
What is Chiropractics?
According to www.chirofind.com :
Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts which is based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a normally functioning nervous system (especially the spine, and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body). "Chiropractic" comes from the Greek word Chiropraktikos, meaning "effective treatment by hand." Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body's inability to adapt to its environment.
Chiropractic also places an emphasis on nutritional and exercise programs, wellness and lifestyle modifications for promoting physical and mental health. While chiropractors make no use of drugs or surgery, Doctors of chiropractic do refer patients for medical care when those interventions are indicated. In fact, chiropractors, medical doctors, physical therapists and other health care professionals now work as partners in occupational health, sports medicine, and a wide variety of other rehabilitation practices.
Countless studies have proven the effectiveness of Chiropractics against asthma in both children and adults.
Here’s an example from www.chiro.org  for a result on a child.
Chiropractic Care of a Pediatric Patient with Asthma, Allergies, Chronic Colds & Vertebral Subluxation
Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health - Chiropractic 2009;   3:   1–7

A 7-year-old male was presented by his parents for chiropractic evaluation and possible care. The suffered from chronic colds, allergies, and asthma since the age of 5 months. At the time of initial evaluation, the patient was on a 1x/day dose of prescription Alavert for allergies and Albuterol for asthma. The patient was cared for using specific, low-force adjustments with the Activator Instrument to address areas of vertebral subluxation in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine. Within two weeks of initiating chiropractic care, the patient was able to discontinue his allergy and asthma medications (as decided upon by his parents) and the use of his nebulizer.
For an adult, I can speak from personal experience.
Having an improper understanding of asthma, defining it as something it is not, left me vulnerable to the triggers. As someone who has suffered from asthma since childhood and well into my adult life, I have a very good understanding of how it impacts your life. I’ve suffered from allergic, exercise induced, occupational, coughing, hard laughing and nocturnal triggers. I discovered chiropractics profound results because I was having adjustments for chronic back pains. I received the benefits from chiropractics for asthma by complete accident! I can tell you that I haven’t had an asthma attack in nearly three years – ever since I’ve been going regularly to the Chiropractor! My allergies are not nearly as severe – I can actually cut the yard without triggering an allergy or asthma attack! I frequent the chiropractor about every 4-6 weeks to keep my body optimal and prevent asthma’s return to my life.
Financially I spend much less money on chiropractic adjustments than I did going to the doctor and buying medications.
This is real. It works.
Chiropractics is part of my holistic lifestyle. I also apply the 5 No Matter Whats every day (which includes QIT dieting), acupuncture every 4-6 weeks and exercise regularly.
There are medicines that stop the reactions –  I was once given an inhaler by a paramedic in an emergency that numbed half my face - but I have yet used one that actually prevents them. Chiropractics prevents attacks!
Think about how much insurance companies payout for asthma patients! Think of the money that could be saved if asthma is prevented from ever happening without medications! Alternative medicines have a place and should be part of any Health Care Reform Act. Until then you should make them part of your Health Portfolio.
If you or your child has asthma, seek out a Chiropractor immediately! Especially now that fall has arrived.
