'Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag' confirmed for 'next-gen consoles'

A few days ago Ubisoft confirmed that "Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag" is in development and should be expected to be released later this year. Today, Ubisoft confirmed what everyone assumed which is that the game will also be released on "next-gen consoles".

Technically, Ubisoft did do this when it stated that in addition to the game being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 "Black Flag" would also be released on Wii U. However, the reference of "next-gen consoles" is to the recently revealed PlayStation 4 and the upcoming Xbox 720, which is due to be announced next month.

At this point not much is known about "Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag" other than that it is going to take place on the high seas and a new hero is cast in the role of the assassin. A reveal trailer is available.

"Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag" will be available October 29th on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U October 29. Obviously the game will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 sometime on or after their respective release dates.
