Assassin's Creed Unity has a slew of different clothing items and weapons for players to choose from. Sure, previous Assassin's Creed games had a good amount of those for players to choose from, but this year's implementation of an significant progression system will making those items have that much more meaning than before.
It's one thing to create a massive game and focus on the fact that's it's just big, but Ubisoft is creating Assassin's Creed Unity so that it has more than depth, not just quantity, in the game's clothing and weapon items.
"In Assassin’s Creed Unity, players have the opportunity to deeply customize the gear, tools and skills of Arno. We really wanted players to shape their character how they wanted him to be—to have their own unique version of Arno.
"Gears are clothing items: we allow you to change Arno’s hood, coat, boots, gloves and belt. We have around 200 individual gears you can wear in-game, which means there is a very high chance your Arno will look truly unique depending on the combination you choose to wear. And this is not just about making your Arno look unique, this is also about the way you play. Each gear will have gameplay attributes that will contribute to define your play style," Ubisoft said.
Clothing items are nothing new for the Assassin's Creed series and Ubisoft clearly has lots of variety for players to choose from. It'll be interesting to see how clothing items will impact Arno's skills and attributes. The entirely new fleshed out skill tree we have heard about for Arno feels like it'll have a strong impact on a player's experience in Assassin's Creed Unity.
Weapons in Assassin's Creed are, of course, another returning element, but in a new fleshed out manner. We expect weapons to not only enable certain fighting styles, but to also help build up Arno's attributes, much like clothing will.
"Weapons are melee or ranged. We have around 85 weapons in game such as swords, axes, spears, blunt weapons, pistols and long guns. Tools are consumables, such as medicine, bombs or lock picks. The weapons & tools you pick will truly support your play style. Skills are abilities you unlock as you progress through the game. Your skills fall within specific categories which again you can balance to support your play style," Ubisoft said.
Assassin's Creed Unity is a new start for the series, its developers and everyone who loves it. Paris is a location we have been waiting for Ubisoft to bring us to, and it's exciting that it will be the canvas for the first new-generation only Assassin's Creed.
Assassin's Creed Unity launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Ubisoft will release the game on Nov. 11, so stay tuned for all the latest developments as we get closer to launch.
