'Assassin's Creed Unity' alpha trailer and announcement

Assassin's Creed has a ton of hub bub around it lately with leaks from Neogaf about the time, setting and other circumstances that will be surrounding the next game in the long running franchise. Earlier today Ubisoft announced, unveiled and confirmed a lot of these rumors by putting out an Assassin's Creed Unity alpha trailer.

The brand new game seems to take place in France during the iconic revolution.

The trailer shows off alpha footage of a sky line accompanied by the chilling shrill of a guillotine crashing down. From some of the buildings, and the guillotine it is rummored that Assassin's Creed Unity will take place in France, but there may be some other outlying regions. The whole timeline of Assassin's Creed has been changed ever since Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and times and spaces may be played with tremendously moving forward.

The announcement trailer did reveal some other little tidbits like the games development cycle. Assassin's Creed Unity has been in development for three years and has specifically been developed for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. The development cycle will be well longer than some of the other entries in the franchise history.

Assassin's Creed Unity will be released holiday season this year for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. There is also a side project rummored called "Comet" that is still unconfirmed for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
