Assassin's Creed Liberation HD features a complete graphical overhaul of the original handheld game and will be available as as download-only title via PSN, Xbox LIVE and Ubisoft's Uplay for the PC. It also features re-mastered music and sound effects, a revamped gameplay experience, and new missions according to the publisher.
The game takes place in the year 1765 prior in New Orleans prior to the American Revolution and stars female assassin Aveline de Grandpré. In Liberation, the Templars are attempting to seize control of the Louisiana territory to shift the balance of power and have secretly taken hold of the slave trade in the city. Aveline must journey through the streets of the Big Easy, swamps and ancient Mayan temples to help free her people and stop the Templars.
As an assassin, Aveline is equipped with a machete, blowpipe, whip and dueling pistols but does not rely on strength like other characters in the series. She can also switch costumes to infiltrate high society or blend in crowds as a slave.
No release date has been announced for Assassin's Creed Liberation HD yet but Ubisoft says it will launch "soon."
