On Feb. 28, Ubisoft confirmed the release of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag”, a pirate themed installment of their franchise. Shortly after, they launched a countdown site for the world premiere trailer, subtitled “New era. New assassin.” While at this point it is obvious they are releasing the trailer on Tuesday, March 5, we dug deeper and found more details on the site itself.
The first thing to note is regarding platforms. While Ubisoft has confirmed Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U to release the game, the page says that “Black Flag” will also be available on next-generation consoles – meaning it could very well release for PlayStation 4 and whatever Microsoft has in store for us. Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed IV” page also lists a release date: October 29. Additionally, players who pre-order the game will receive a collectable Todd McFarlane poster. We are assuming this is the poster that was leaked on Feb. 26.
Lastly, before accessing the page, we reached an age gate with an image, looking like some new art (probably concept art, shown above). While Ubisoft hasn’t given the official word on the image, we are hoping their announcement Monday will include the image in whatever additional information they wish to share with us.
