'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' confirmed

Ubisoft confirmed today on Feb. 28 that the rumors concerning the next installment of "Assassin's Creed" are true. Leaked marketing materials revealed earlier this week through Kotaku that the next game would be titled "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and would feature a new hero and time period. This along with the game's confirmation expands upon the comments made earlier this month by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot concerning the release of a new game this year.

While we have yet to find out any concrete details other than the game's box art, we can immediately deduce by the art that pirates will be involved just as the rumors suggested. After a successful foray into naval battles in "Assassin's Creed III," a chance to explore the high seas and enjoy some pirate action will be a fun new direction in the "Assassin's Creed" series.

If your interested in more news concerning "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag," check out the official announcement on Monday, March 4th at 9:00 a.m. Pacific. Ubisoft will reveal the first details of the new game and give all those "Assassin's Creed" fans something to look forward to in the coming year. IGN will be having a pre-show at 8:30 a.m., so tune in.
