Ubisoft officially announced today the upcoming release of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” which is set to come out on Oct 29 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo’s Wii U. The game was first leaked last week, but Ubisoft is now ready to officially announce the title. The next installment of the popular “Assassin’s Creed” franchise follows the exploits of pirate Edward Kenway in the setting of 18th century Caribbean islands.
Building upon the popular naval segments found in last year’s release from the series, “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” will feature ship combat and exploration as a focal point for the new title. Set during the same time as “Assassin’s Creed III,” the new game should feature the same period weaponry wielded by Connor, but with a larger emphasis on naval combat.
Gameplay in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is based upon the franchise’s proven tenets. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag features a vast open world with more than 50 navigable locations. Combat combines the weaponry of the Assassin’s Order with armaments of the era, and rewards both daring and stealth. And the series’ acclaimed multiplayer experience is more varied and ruthless than ever in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.
“Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” is set to release on Oct 29 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
