Earlier in the week, some game art had been leaked online in the form of a poster for what appeared to be a new "Assassin’s Creed" game. Not only was there a distinguishable assassin character surrounded by pirates, but a game map as well. On Feb. 28, Ubisoft set the record straight and put an end to the speculation. "Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag" has been announced for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
What we know of the game so far is this: "Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag" will feature a new main character that is both an assassin and a pirate. The setting of the game will take place around the Caribbean islands (naturally), and much like how "Assassin’s Creed III" introduced the element of naval warfare in both mandatory battles and numerous sidequests, "Black Flag" include both battles by land and by sea.
While "Asssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag" is available on multiple platforms, you may be persuaded to go with the PS3 based on exclusive content which will be available on the console. The PS3 box art boasts what is supposedly 60 minutes of additional gameplay not found on any of the other versions of the game.
Although there is no confirmed release date yet for the new "Assassin’s Creed" title, Ubisoft will be holding an official announcement for the game on Mar. 4, and reveal a world premiere trailer as well.
