"Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw where he became Edward Kenway's second-in-command," Ubisoft's description of the Freedom Cry DLC reads. "Now, 15 years later, Adewale has become a trained Assassin who finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew. He starts to meet locals in an effort to assemble a crew and steal a ship. The more he helps, however, the more he is drawn into the Maroon slave community. Forced to face his past, Adewale sets out to free the slaves and bring death to their captors."
The Freedom Cry expansion adds approximately three hours of gameplay to Assassin's Creed IV and will be available as part of the game's $19.99 Season Pass. The Exclusive Kraken Ship Pack will also be available to Season Pass purchasers and includes a sail, wheel, and figurehead inspired by the mythological monster for players to mount on the Jack Daw in-game. It also comes with new multiplayer characters to unlock and promises more "Single-player missions, weapons, skins, and collectibles for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag."
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is due out on Oct. 29 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. It will and on the PS4 on Nov. 15, Xbox One on Nov. 22 and PC on Nov. 19.
