'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' will get exclusive PS4 content

With news of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” being released (and leaked), Ubisoft has gone on record saying that the PlayStation 4 version will be the “best version,” writes Martin Gaston for Gamespot on March 4.

This is because the game will have exclusive content on the Sony system that will not be available on any other. Jean Guesdon, the creative director for the game, revealed during the London event for the game that it would “be essentially the same game,” but “we will also use some other features that we will talk more about later during the year."

"You can imagine that we will use [the PlayStation 4's] full capacity and the potential of the console,” Guesdon says. “Just graphically speaking it will be really enhanced. Just think about the lighting, the physics, the ocean simulation that will be experienced."

Among others, a representative has suggested the Ubisoft is looking into utilizing the DualShock 4, the new controller, which includes a touchpad screen.

The new game takes place in 1715, in the Caribbean islands. The main character is a privateer-turned-pirate named Edward Kenway. “Edward came almost naturally,” Guesdon says, explaining the origin of the character. “We just wanted that brash young rebel that would totally fit into the pirate era.”

“Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” is scheduled for a Oct. 2013 release. In addition to the PS4 version, there will be versions released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and the WiiU.
