'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' release date leaked

Information regarding “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” has been leaked. This was originally reported by Martin Gaston for Gamespot on March 1.

Due to an “administrative bungle” by Ubisoft, the game’s reveal was made earlier than its planned Monday, March 4, release. It was revealed that the game will be coming to “next-gen consoles” and will have an Oct. 29, 2013, release date, which is earlier than previous rumors for an early 2014 release.

"Pre-order now to get collectible Todd McFarlane poster," adds Ubisoft's site.

After this event, the page was hastily edited, but not before all the information was uploaded to Game Everything, and hence, the public at large knew.

“After a string of previous leaks,” writes Gaston, “Ubisoft released the game’s box art and revealed that PlayStation 3 owners will be getting 60 minutes of exclusive content.” In addition to the PS3 and next gen consoles, the other platforms it was mentioned to be coming to include Xbox 360, PC, and WiiU.

There have been speculations about the game’s contents, including that the game will take place in 1715 in the Carribean, with the main character being a pirate-privateer named Edward Kenway (and would be the grandfather to “Assassin’s Creed 3’s” Connor).
