'Assassin's Creed 3' shipped over 12m units, 'Far Cry 3' shipped 4.5m units

Ubisoft has been on a role recently with some high profile releases. Last year they pushed out a number of games, the two biggest games being "Assassin's Creed 3" and "Far Cry 3". Today, they're touting the success of both franchises.

"Assassin's Creed 3" has now cleared the 12 million mark in terms of units shipped and digital sales. This number marks a 70% increase in sales over the last game to come out in the franchise, "Assassin's Creed: Revelations." This makes "ACIII" the fastest selling game in Ubisoft's history.

"Far Cry 3" on the other hand, shipped and digitally sold 4.5 million copies. To be fair, "Far Cry 3" came out pretty late in the year, and it had to fight off mixed reviews from the last game in it's series, "Far Cry 2".

However shipping and selling around 4.5 million units is nothing to be ashamed up, most game's can't manage to see a million, much less four.

"Assassin's Creed 3" and "Far Cry 3" are currently available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
