In Sunday’s interview with Charlie Rose, Syria’s President Bashar aL-Assad likened Obama to George W. Bush in his foreign policy. Stating that ‘we expected something different from this administration,’ Obama carries forward the same policies of the past administration with different accessories.’
Assad spoke on to address the American people and their dully elected representatives. Aware of the majority opposition to war held by the American people, he spoke as to the “ no benefits” of war for America, as well as the lack of evidence presented by the Obama administration and Secretary John Kerry; as to the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian National forces under the ordered directive of Assad.
In Assad's view there has been no indisputable evidence presented to date by the Obama administration or U.S. intelligence operatives.
When asked by Rose as to the possible repercussions for a U.S. Military attack on Syria, Assad pointed to the events of 9/11. Reminding Rose that his government is not the only faction fighting in the region, Assad did not rule out the use of air born chemicals by terrorist organization in retaliation for a U.S. military assault on Syria.
This Wednesday the Congress of the United States will vote on Obama’s proposal for what has been promoted as a ‘very limited’ military assault on Syria.
Syria’s Assad believes that the American people have a voice through their dully elected representatives.
