As part of their Tenth Anniversary celebration, Aspen Comics is launching ten brand new comic series with an all new number one issue. The Aspen Comics '10 for 10' kicked off this week with the release of "Legend of the Shadow Clan #1". The releases will continue with a new series starting each month.
In a press release dated February 7, 2013, Aspen Comics announced that for the August '10 for 10' release, Aspen Comics is asking the fans to choose which title will make the '10 for 10'. The titles are "Overtaken" and "Awaken Skies". Through two Facebook pages fans will vote for the series they would like to see. Both series are created and will be written by Frank Mastromauro, the co-creator of "Shrugged" and "Dellec".
Here are the series pitches:
"Awaken Skies" - Coping with high school is difficult enough, but when a young girl named Hilary makes the startling discovery that she has the ability of flight, her normal life suddenly takes on an all-new meaning. But, there are others who know of Hilary’s unique abilities, and they will stop at nothing to possess her in their pursuit of shifting the world’s power balance of mankind itself. High school doesn’t seem so difficult anymore.
"Overtaken" - Journalist Will Harden is well equipped for most situations, but nothing can prepare him for what’s about to come. Relocating from the big city to a small mountain town with his wife, everything is turned upside-down the moment she goes missing. Are the rumors of alien abductions true or did something far worse happen to his wife? No matter the cause, Harden will not stop until he uncovers the truth, or dies trying.
Aspen has made the voting very simple for both of these books. Whichever Facebook page receives the most 'likes' will be published in August and will be an official part of the '10 for 10'. Voting ends 10 a.m. PST on Friday, March 1, 2013.

When Aspen Comics was founded ten years ago the fans voted on the first title the company would publish. Fans narrowly voted for "Soulfire" over "Ekkos". "Soulfire" has been published for ten years and Mastromauro wants to renew this tradition with the seventh new book from the '10 for 10'.
Check each titles respective Facebook pages for new art all month long as the two series compete in a spirited election. The winning title will receive all the bells and whistles that the other '10 for 10' titles are receiving with 'Reserved Editions', sketch covers, covers by J. Scott Campbell and Eric “Ebas” Basaldua and so much more.
