You have filled out your FAFSA forms and received some grants. Yet, you still do not have enough to attend a college. Some colleges will provide you the extra money you need. How do you ask them for the money?
- Apply to a college that needs you. If you play soccer, and are good, yet do not want to be a professional player, find a college that needs good soccer players. Show them your skills and game records and ask them for money to attend and play for them. Don't wait for colleges to contact you if you play sports and are good, contact the colleges and brag on yourself.
- If you have great grades and get high test scores (ACT and SAT), talk to colleges about their scholarships that will finish paying for your college years.
- Decide on a major and find a college that offers scholarships for that major. This takes a little more research, but Internet searches will give you a lot of information.
The trick is to research the college and convince them they need you and need to help pay for your college. It's similar to a job interview where you are convincing a company they need you.
If you are thinking it's crazy to ask a college to give you money to attend there, look at it this way - all they can say is no. It won't hurt to ask!
