Hi Meg,
Got a question for you. What is the actual message a guy is trying to make when, at some point during EVERY date, he makes a comment about any given female being hot or having a good body? What is he struggling with? I’m talking a middle-aged man!
Sara
Dear Sara:
What issues is he struggling with besides being a major douche? Well, insecurity for one. Any person who feels the need to go out of their way to make someone else feel bad has major self-esteem issues. He’s trying to knock you down and make you think you’re not all that (come on, we both know you are!). This way he feels superior. By announcing how sexy and bangin’ other women are, he’s hoping you’ll check yourself and thank your lucky stars he’s chosen to be with you instead of Big Boobs McGee who just strutted by. Don’t fall for it sister!
In all reality, it’s he who doesn’t feel deserving of you. This is a lame attempt at securing a relationship with you. You know, so you won’t stray. As you mentioned, this man is middle-aged and should know better. So leave him to ogle away. In the meantime, go find yourself a chivalrous man who will tell only you how hot you are.
-Meg
