This past week has been one of contending and striving for me; and feeling like I have been in a battle, was weary and in need of refreshing. One evening, as I was pouring my heart out to the Lord and then drifted off to sleep, my Father ministered to me in a most wonderful way (as He always knows what I need and how to meet each need).
The Father gave me a dream of my grandmother. Growing up, she was the only grandparent that I knew, as my other grandparents either died before I was born, or passed away when I was still a baby and too young to remember. This grandmother, we called her “Nonni”; which in Italian is the shortened version of “Nonnina,” and is a more endearing term for “grandmother” than “Nonna.” My Nonni died when I was nine or ten years old, and I was very close to her.
In my dream, this past week, I was the age that I am at the time of this writing, which is 43; and my grandmother is the age she would be if she was still alive; which would be in her late nineties. She looked beautiful! In my dream, she had never died. She gave me these gorgeous towels and a bathrobe that she had made for me. We talked about many things. When I awoke, I felt the mercy of God in such a profound way, which I had never experienced before. I thank my Most Loving Father, for a truly amazing, enriching, and fulfilling encounter.
