The Red Parrot Asian Bistro is the closest oriental cuisine you will find near the BWI airport and the Arundel Mills Mall. Although, the restaurant may give you an impression of an Asian fusion cuisine, it’s really more of a variety of Asian country favorites served in a single menu. Specifically, the Chinese, Japanese, and Thai selections are favorite delicacies. And I am certainly not implying that their Vietnamese and Indian food choices on the menu are less than excellent, I just have not had the opportunity to enjoy that portion of their menu. If it is as delectable as the Chinese and Japanese food choices, then you’re on your way to an exciting meal. I would recommend their combination fried rice, shredded beef, sweet and sour shrimp, tuna sushi, Thai garlic chicken, miso soup, and the red been ice cream. We also asked for a personalized fish course which was a steamed rockfish with soy sauce, ginger, onion leaves, and sesame oil. The chef was more than willing to indulge our cravings! It was cooked perfectly. The prices are a bit upscale ($$$-$$$$) for the portions served. The restaurant is simple, cozy and beautifully designed. The service is good to excellent. Cleanliness in the main dining spaces is excellent, but the restrooms do need a bit more attention. It is about 15-minutes south of BWI using route 170, take 100-west, and then taking the next exit turning left onto Arundel Mills Boulevard. You’ll find the Arundel Mills Mall to your right and about 2 more miles down you’ll find the restaurant on Dorchester Boulevard to your right. Comparable restaurants around BWI would be PF Chang’s in Columbia, Baltimore, and Annapolis locations and The Szchezuan Inn Restaurant in Severna Park.
