Las Vegas and Henderson celebrate numerous cultures and events throughout the year. One of the most beautiful is the Asian Harvest Moon Festival at Springs Preserve. This year will be the second during which this celebration is featured at Springs, and it's bound to be even bigger and better than last year.
Observed by numerous cultures throughout Asia, the Moon Festival parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar and is an occasion for family and friends to reunite for lantern parades and to eat moon cakes, the festival's traditional food.
The Asian Harvest Moon Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, from 12 to 6 pm at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The festival will feature art and crafts, food concessions, traditional musical and dance performances and a children's lantern parade. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 children for children 5 or older and free for children 4 or under. Family packs for two adults and up to four children are $12. Tickets may be purchased at the gate or online.
