The film 'jOBS', starring Ashton Kutcher ('Two and a Half Men', 'The Butterfly Effect', has a release month of April 2013. This was reported on January 3. The film, detailing the life of the Apple creator, is being handled by Open Road Pictures and Five Star Films.
As reported by Eddie Makuch through Gamespot, who learned of the release by CNET, 'The film...will chronicle Jobs' life from 1971 through 2000. It will detail Jobs' founding of Apple, his departure from the company, the formation of NeXT and Pixar, and his subsequent return to Apple.'
The film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah later in January. Other cast members include Matthew Modine ('Full Metal Jacket') as former-Apple CEO John Sculley and Josh Gad ('21') as co-creator Steve Wozniak.
And in other Apple-film news, Aaron Sorkin ('The Social Network', for which he won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar) is writing his own adaptation of the Apple-creator's life. It will be aired, on television, as 'three 30-minute acts, each taking place behind the curtains at three of Apple's major product launches: the first Macintosh computer, the NeXT computer, and the iPod.'
