Ashley Walthall was crowned Miss Magnolia 2014 on Saturday, according to the Magnolia Reporter. The crowning makes her eligible to be a contestant in the Miss Arkansas 2014 Pageant.

The state pageant is scheduled for June 15-21 in Hot Springs. The winner will represent Arkansas in the Miss America 2014 Pageant, this fall in Atlantic City.

The reigning Miss Arkansas is Amy Crain.

Walthall was a contestant for Miss Arkansas 2013 as Miss Southern Arkansas University. Her talent is as a tap dancer, and her pageant platform for last year was “Troop Support: Then and Now.”

She was also a state contestant in 2011 as Miss Lights of the Delta, when she won the preliminary talent competition.

In 2008, she was fourth runner-up in the Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant.

The teen pageant is the younger-sister competition within the Miss America Organization.
