Valentine’s Day in Sochi isn't just another day at the Olympics. The fans are finding that the Olympic athletes are celebrating the day just like they would in America. Some athletes are even offering a little romance help for the fans. American figure skater Ashley Wagner gave fans around the world a Valentine’s Day card on Friday. This card isn't your typical card, instead it’s the perfect solution for the fans who forgot to get their sweetheart something special and need a quick fix.
“From Russia (kind of) with love...Happy Valentine's Day Twitter ! Xoxo,” tweeted Ashley Wagner from her official Twitter account on Friday. Attaching the Valentine’s Day card as a picture, the fans could print it out and give it to someone special. Or maybe just keep it. Either way, it was a funny gesture, especially since the athlete put her shocked expression from the Olympic competition on the right side.
The Olympic athletes have really stepped up to the plate when it comes to getting involved with the fans over social media. Looking to engage the viewers, the athletes are offering fun moments outside of the programs that fans can be involved in.
Offering up Valentine ’s Day card is pretty smart for Ashley Wagner. There are plenty of fans who would love to be her Valentine on February 14!
