Ashley Sullivan name-drops 'exotic' New Hampshire on 'American Idol' premiere

Ashley Sullivan, 25, of Springfield, Massachusetts, is crazy passionate. And she definitely has a big voice. But as new judge Jennifer Lopez said on the "American Idol" season 10 premiere, the way she sings and acts is better for Broadway than "American Idol."

Britney Spears may be her idol, but Ashley sang "Gimme Gimme" from "Thoroughly Modern Millie," which didn't help her cause.

But she impressed the judges with her tearful determination. Randy Jackson (who is this season's Simon Cowell, it seems) said no. Jennifer and Steven Tyler, who are the co-Paula Abduls of the season, gave Ashley a yes.

After getting her golden ticket to Hollywood, an extremley excited Ashley told the camera "New Hampshire is the most, like, exotic place I've ever been. I'm going to go to California!"

Good luck, lady!

*Update* Ashley made it past the first round of Hollywood Week! Next week: Group performances. In the preview, we see a tearful Ashley say she just wants to go home. Doesn't sound good!

Congrats to you, Ashley. I missed the show last night but I will be watching. Full support from another Springfield native.
